SNAP

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly called SNAP, provides monthly grocery benefits to qualifying households.

Colorado families can apply online through Colorado PEAK, through the MyCOBenefits app or through their county human-services office.

A Precious Child

A Precious Child’s Resource Center may provide referred families with essentials such as clothing, diapers, baby supplies, hygiene items and other family resources.

Families need a referral from one of the organization’s agency partners before scheduling an appointment. A Precious Child partners with more than 300 agencies, including major Denver-metro county health and human-services departments.

Families who need help locating a referral partner can contact A Precious Child’s intake team. After receiving a referral, they can call to schedule a Resource Center appointment.

Buy Nothing groups

A neighborhood Buy Nothing group can be a wonderful way to find gently used baby items at no cost while connecting with nearby families.

Parents often give away:

Baby clothes
Maternity clothes
Swaddles and sleep sacks
Toys and books
High chairs
Strollers
Baby carriers
Feeding supplies
Nursery furniture

You can join through the Buy Nothing app or look for an official local Buy Nothing community. Members give, receive, share and lend items without buying or selling.

I need pregnancy or healthcare coverage

Health First Colorado

Health First Colorado is Colorado’s Medicaid program. Pregnancy can affect eligibility, so it is worth checking even when you did not qualify previously.

Coverage may include prenatal care, birth, postpartum care, lactation support, transportation and other pregnancy-related services.

Medicaid doula support

Qualifying Health First Colorado members may have access to prenatal, labor, birth and postpartum doula support through an enrolled Medicaid doula provider.

Health First Colorado members who qualify may receive non-emergency transportation to covered medical appointments.

Support is not only about getting through appointments and paying bills. Families also deserve opportunities to play, explore and make memories together.

Museums for All

Through Museums for All, families receiving SNAP can visit participating museums for free or reduced admission.

Visitors generally present an EBT card and photo identification at a participating museum. Standard Museums for All admission is $5 or less for up to four people, although some locations may offer an even broader discount.
