What I Do as Your Lactation Educator
Encouraging, Evidence-Based Support
As a Lactation Educator, my role is to offer education, encouragement, and non-clinical support around infant feeding. I provide families with the tools and information they need to make confident, informed decisions — without judgment and within my training.
I’m here to guide you through the learning curve of breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, pumping, and everything in between but I do not offer clinical care, assessments, or medical advice.
In-home visits are available throughout Boulder, Broomfield, Arvada, Westminster, Denver, Lakewood, Golden, and Littleton. Whether preparing during pregnancy or navigating postpartum feeding challenges, I provide gentle, practical guidance tailored to your needs.
Here’s How I Support You:
🤱 Education & Information
I share practical, evidence-based info about:
- Breastfeeding basics, latch tips, and positioning
- Feeding cues, hunger signs, and newborn rhythms
- Milk production, pumping, and milk storage
- Combo-feeding and bottle-feeding support
- Common challenges like engorgement, cluster feeding, or nursing strikes and when to seek additional help
🌿 Encouragement & Reassurance
Feeding a baby can feel overwhelming. I offer:
- A nonjudgmental space to ask questions
- Emotional support for your feeding journey
- Encouragement tailored to your goals. Not pressure or one-size-fits-all answers
🧘 Mindful, Holistic Guidance
I combine feeding education with mindful support. That means:
- Reminding you that you’re the expert on your baby
- Helping you trust your instincts and tune into your body
- Supporting your emotional well-being as you navigate this season
📚 Referrals When Needed
If a situation requires clinical care (like concerns about baby’s weight gain, pain with feeding, suspected tongue tie, or possible supply issues), I’ll refer you to a:
- IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)
- Pediatrician, bodyworker, or other trusted professional
What’s Outside My Scope (What I Don’t Do):
To stay within my training as a Lactation Educator, I do not:
- Perform oral or breast assessments
- Diagnose or treat feeding problems
- Create feeding care plans or monitor weight gain
- Offer clinical evaluations for latch or supply
- Provide hands-on breastfeeding help without supervision from a clinical provider
Empowered, Supported, & Informed. That’s the Goal
My job is to walk alongside you with compassion and clarity, offering tools — not pressure — and helping you find the path that works best for you and your baby. Whether you’re preparing to nurse, navigating pumping, or exploring your options, you’re not alone.
