Birth Doula Services

You don’t have to walk into that birth room alone.

Birth is one of the most powerful experiences of your life — and you deserve to feel supported, informed, and held every step of the way. Whether you’re planning a medicated hospital birth, an unmedicated birth, a C-section, or somewhere in between, having a doula by your side means you never have to navigate it alone.

I’m here to help you feel ready, grounded, and deeply supported — from the final weeks of pregnancy all the way through those first tender hours with your baby.

What a Birth Doula Actually Does

A birth doula is your continuous, non-medical support person. I’m not there to make decisions for you — I’m there to make sure you feel empowered to make them yourself.

That looks like:

  • Prenatal visits to go over your birth preferences, answer your questions, and help you feel truly prepared
  • On-call support as your due date approaches, so you’re never left wondering who to call
  • Continuous labor support — physical comfort measures, breathing, positioning, and calming presence through every stage
  • Emotional encouragement when things get hard (and they will — and you will absolutely rise to meet them)
  • Partner support so your person feels confident and connected, not sidelined
  • Advocacy — helping you communicate with your care team, ask the right questions, and feel heard in the room
  • A calm anchor when the unexpected happens, helping you adapt with confidence instead of fear
  • Postpartum follow-up to process your birth experience and transition into those early days of parenthood

My Approach to Birth Support

I believe birth is not something that happens to you — it’s something you move through. And how supported you feel in that journey matters deeply.

My approach is rooted in:

Evidence + Intuition I stay current on evidence-based labor support techniques and bring that knowledge into the room with me — alongside a deep trust in your body’s wisdom and your instincts as a birthing person.

A Calm, Grounded Presence Birth can be unpredictable. I bring steadiness to the swirl — so you can stay as present and connected to your experience as possible, no matter how your birth unfolds.

Non-Judgmental, Whole-Person Support Your birth, your choices. I am fully in your corner whether you want an epidural at 2cm or you’re aiming for an unmedicated birth. My role is to support your vision — not push my own.

Partner-Inclusive Care I love supporting partners too. Birth can feel overwhelming for the people who love you most. I help your partner feel prepared, included, and genuinely useful — because this is their experience too.

Who This Is For

Birth doula support is for you if:

  • You want continuous, familiar support throughout labor — not just whoever is on shift
  • You’re feeling anxious or uncertain about birth and want to feel more prepared and less afraid
  • You want someone in your corner who knows how to navigate hospital environments and communicate with care teams
  • Your partner wants support too — someone to coach them while they’re coaching you
  • You had a difficult previous birth experience and want this one to feel different
  • You simply want to feel held, seen, and supported through one of the biggest moments of your life

What’s Included

Every birth doula package includes:

✦ Two prenatal visits to build our relationship, review your birth preferences, and prepare together

✦ Unlimited phone, text, and email support throughout your third trimester

✦ On-call availability from 38 weeks until baby arrives

✦ Continuous labor and birth support — I stay with you from active labor through delivery

✦ Partner coaching and support throughout labor

✦ One postpartum visit within the first two weeks to debrief your birth experience and support your transition

A Note From Melinda

Birth changed me. Twice.

My two birth experiences were completely different — and both of them taught me something profound about what it means to feel supported, or not. I know what it’s like to walk into that room feeling uncertain. I know what it’s like to wish someone was there just for you — not for the medical side of things, but for the human side.

That’s exactly why I became a birth doula. Because every birthing person deserves someone in their corner who is fully, completely, only there for them.

I would be so honored to be that person for you.
